Re: Skyrim SE Advanced Depth of Field
Great. Thanks for giving us the optional focusing behavior.

You probably get that wrong if it kills of bokehs...but really, no need to waste time on it if there isn't any flickering issue.

Thank you Marty
The Tilt Shift works as intended for me.

Re: Skyrim SE Advanced Depth of Field
So I downloaded 1.3b and copy/pasted it to the game directory and loaded it up and tilt shift looks pretty sweet (wouldn't play like that but should make some killer shots) but I lost the DoF effect adjustments? Did I do something wrong? All the adjustments I see are related to tilt shift...?

Re: Skyrim SE Advanced Depth of Field
I just modified the code to make the tilt-shift mode a toggle so that the rest of the controls are retained. I can upload those simple adjustments if Marty is ok with it.

Thank you for the new parameters, I think these will be very helpful. I will also take a look at the new tilt-shift option, though I have little experience with this kind of DOF myself.
One last question I wanted to ask: In the video you posted here, it shows that when the blurring effect is being applied, that this seems to take place progressively starting in the distance and then moving closer to the viewer over time. To me, this behavior seems a bit peculiar, as intuitively, it seems to me that the entire background should be getting blurred at the same TIME, but just to a stronger INTENSITY for things that are farther away. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this behavior would feel more 'natural' than having the blurring effect fade in by distance....?
Anyway, as always I appreciate your ongoing work with these effects, and I offer my thoughts only as constructive feedback, and not as criticism

Re: Skyrim SE Advanced Depth of Field
That's because of my low blur curve, blur reaches maximum very fast.

Hmm, so at 0:03 to 0:05 in your video, where the blur effect fades in starting in the distance and moving up to the foreground: using the 'curve' parameters I should be able to configure this to take place at the same time across the entire distance, rather than starting at the distance and moving closer to the camera?

Re: Skyrim SE Advanced Depth of Field
I don't get what you're saying. What you know about dof seems to be fundamentally wrong. When you look from near to far, the focus plane is moving. Hence the blur intensity is also moving. If the focus plane is 50m away, far blur only applies on areas >50m away so when you move the focus plane from 50 to 5m, the blurred area moves closer. Get a 30cm ruler, hold it next to your eye, so that it points away from your face. Now try to focus on different parts of the ruler. You'll see that the blur intensity is moving and not just increasing on the entire scene. Just like in my DOF.

Check the part where the focus area is moving and how the blur intensity curve is also moving.

Ok, never mind, I just think that it looks a bit peculiar. I will play around with the effect as it exists today, thanks again.
