hey Boris. Do you have any plans to incorporate raleigh scattering maybe after the sun rays?

It would make sun sets and dawn skies look amazing!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.112 KAGE
Hi Boris and all,
I am wondering if someone can give me some advice on the SSAO settings. Here is my current settings:
UseIndirectLighting=false
UseComplexIndirectLighting=false
SamplingQuality=2
SamplingRange=0.35
FadeFogRangeDay=20.0
FadeFogRangeNight=20.0
SizeScale=0.35
SourceTexturesScale=0.35
FilterQuality=2
AOAmount=0.5
ILAmount=0.0
Tonight after the football I am going to have a go at editing the SSAO in my profile. At the moment I have set them all like this for performance reasons. It looks okay and doesn't cause a big performance issue. But... I get the black aura around my character, even though the AOAmount is not particularly high, which is what Boris said would cause this aura. It is only visible on light surfaces, like Snow. Please double check your profiles for this aura on snow, and also in bad weather on snow, at night without a torch standing on snow and let me know if you get the aura too. I can't see what I'm doing wrong these settings are so soft you can hardly notice the AO, so why the aura?
I only get the black aura when standing on snow at night or bad weather it seem :?:

Godamnit! How much should i tell that if you want fast ssao, buy yourself pc with 1000$ videocard and stop talking about some kind of aura complaining how bad performance of ssao is. You have what you asked, price is equal to result.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.112 KAGE
calm...
If you look again I'm not insulting your SSAO, I'm just asking a question about the settings, if the answer is unknown I will try each one myself until the aura disappears and report back. Performance is fine and I have a good card.
Please calm mate, nobody is complaining, just trying to help.

Doesn't sound like a SSAO Problem... but lightning related..

It's the nature of AO, that "aura" is always there, it's just sometimes more visible,.. you can't remove it.
You could try to tighten it up a bit with SamplingRange=0.15~ or play in first person ^^
It doesn't bother me at all since it shows mostly up to the waist an goes nicely with characters shadow.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.112 KAGE
Hehe, the last two post indicate why I'm confused and thought it was due to my settings. One person says it must be a lighting problem, indicating he is not suffering from the issue and then next post says it is the nature of AO and it is always there!
Anyway, if it is always there I'm not too worried, I thought it was specifically something wrong in my setup. Thanks natty I will have a go with the sampling range, cheers!
And Boris, good work, keep it up

Re: TES Skyrim 0.112 KAGE
Seems the best solution would be to make new parameter for toggling old ssao and new version or remove ssao only mode at all.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.112 KAGE
Boris, now that you said that and, excuse my ignorance, it is possible to implement 0.102 ssao code with the same quality of distant objects and fog mixing of 0112 ssao? Can we have the best of the two methods? I'm not asking for it, actually im very happy with this last version, but just simple curiosity. There are different performance for each method or is just aesthetics?
