Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

Water Shadow (both regular and volumetric) are no longer working for me. They definitely worked sometime in 2016 but I do not remember at which time they stopped working (it was before you released 0.315 though, I just never got around to posting about it). I tested 0.315 and 0.308 and 0.305 right now and water shadows do not work on any of them, though I am almost 100% sure it was working on 0.305 sometime last year, so I think it may be a problem with the newest Nvidia drivers. Unfortunately I am using a new GTX 1080 Ti now so I can't downgrade to any older 2016 drivers for testing.

Right now when water shadows are enabled, water shadows aren't rendered and also there is a bug that causes all of the water to get darker, and this darkness comes and goes depending on the camera, so sometimes it causes the water to flash as you are moving. So for now, I had to disable water shadow option completely.

Thanks Boris! Looking forward to trying this out :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

What other info do you need from me to help fix this?

Here are some screenshots:

This is a screenshot with Water Shadow OFF:

This is a screenshot in the same exact place with Water Shadow ON. No Difference. It definitely worked before because I originally used this area to test water shadows when configuring my preset:

This is a screenshot with Water Shadow ON after I moved around a little, to show the dark water bug it causes with some camera angles. Also, I have my ENB Water settings panel open:

I also tested with other ENB presets instead of mine, same result with all ENB presets and all versions of the ENB dll that I tried.

Only difference between last time I definitely remember water shadows working is that I updated the video card and drivers (GTX 670 -> GTX 1070 -> GTX 1080 Ti).

Current system specs:
Windows 7 Pro
ENB 0.315
GTX 1080 Ti
Nvidia driver version 385.41

I can't help, it's not mod issue. Change drivers or find if you have crapware running and terminate it, that's all.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

What driver version did you use for your successful test?

Does anyone else have a problem with their water shadows? (currently, not from memory, like I said mine was working fine a few months ago)

EDIT: No "crapware", I tested without anything running. I terminated everything, mail client, even mouse drivers, I've been trying to solve this for a while now so I tried many things already before registering here... Can "crapware" affect only water shadows anyway? Everything else in ENB works, other than water shadows.

Unrelated issue - When camera near clip is set very low (like almost 0) SSAO doesn't work. This causes problems with camera mods like Immersive First Person Camera and Enhanced Camera that might edit the near clip value sometimes (for example Enhance Camera changes nearclip dynamically based on camera angles so you can see SSAO turning off and on as you move the camera around). For me it's not a major problem since I have default nearclip 95% of the time but I do have a camera zoom hotkey set up that toggles FOV and nearclip and whenever I use that to zoom all the SSAO disappears which looks really ugly...

Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

Never heard about ssao problems reports, but i can't test such mods, only manual editing of clip planes (don't know how though). FadeFogRange is what you can try to modify in such case. Playing with clipping planes do cause other problems anyway, detailed shadows buggied for example, water shadows can be also in theory.
I'm using old drivers, 0.335 or something like that. But at this moment i'm on laptop with radeon 7670m, everything works fine even on AMD which famous by driver bugs. Better wait if somebody tell if this issue exist for other users or restore skyrim setting entirely and remove mods.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

Just checked and unfortunately 375 drivers are too old to support 1080 Ti so I can't try them. Guzio, is it possible for you to test the latest 385 drivers for water shadows?

Boris:
If you want to test near clip changes without mod, I think you can easily adjust these values in Skyrim.ini in the [Display] section:
fNear1stPersonDistance (default 5)
fNearDistance (default 15)
Those are the first person and third person near clip distances I believe. Easy way to test should be to keep 3rd person value at default and change 1st person value to 0.001 or something and toggle the camera mode to check the difference.

I will test FadeFogRange when I'm back at my PC.

Also, I've always wondered about the difference between the default FXAA and ENB Edge AA. Is ENB Edge AA a custom effect or is it based on FXAA shader?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.315

EdgeAA is FXAA applied not to entire screen.
