Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
yes, test1/test2 version from before where better than the current 0.318 release. current 0.318 release seems to stutter again. I didn't test it because so many said "looks good", was just looking at shadows . But now that i run around, yes it stutters.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
Sidenote: After the recent Windows 10 update I can confirm the fix regarding vram allocation on dx9; that I have now more than 4064mb vram!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
bad testers you are, i copied changes which made in that test to new release, excatly the same, only difference is that calculation each 4 frames was enabled all the time in tests, but in new its disabled when autoambient=false. And of course changes to skylighting (so you must disable it to compare).

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
Folks, maybe you don't have stuttering with new version itself, but higher frame rate when enabled autoambient? Did you check this with fps counter of mod and some software like fraps too to make sure it's not mistake?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
fraps shows same fps as ENB, AutoAmbient on and off. But if i disable FrameLimiter and ENB shows 70fps then fraps still shows 55fps for example... but maybe that is normal.
Skylighting on/off makes no difference for stuttering (and if, it is very very minor)
AutoAmbient off removes stutter
I also notice that the stutter reduces when Framelimiter gets reduced in small increments, 59 has a lot of sutter, but even reducing it to 55 or 52 makes a lot of difference.
in test2 disabling AutoAmbient did not increase fps. in current 0.318 it increases fps by 10% for me. so test2 = 52fps, 0315 = 52fps, 0318 = 52fps on and 57fps off
don't know if that helps at all...

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
Ehh. I don't know, for me performance is much higher with autoambient enabled. It's all very unstable with such games. I have only one way left to try implement data reading - via occlusion culling queries, but it's very perverted way to transfer float colors via pixels drawn.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
yea, i don't know a lot more...
You are saying calcuation each 4 frames in current 0318 is on if AutoAmbient is on, and off if off.
I want to do a stupid test, can you do "calculation each 4 frames all the time" in the new release and post as new test, please?
I don't want to imply anything at all... but it all seems so unlogical at the moment, just want to see what happens.
If it is working ok like test2 was, why not leave it that way?
If it is not working, the error must be somewhere else, another difference from previous test to current release?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
It seems I don't have any frame skipping/stuttering with latest 0.318 (AutomaticAmbientCalculation off), when is turned on then stuttering is back
activating fps limit will make it normal

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
EnableAutomaticAmbientCalculation=true means exactly same as test i posted here, so it computes all the time each 4 frames. other changes are only skylighting, so if it's off, then performance will be same in test and release of 318.
Attached again that old test 2, which differ only by skylighting, so disable it and compare to official build.
EDIT: File deleted

Re: TES Skyrim 0.318
Found what's the problem with the test. It simply not read data at all, cause i'm checking if it's exterior too late now, when frame is over. So the test is invalid, that's why it's fast. Okay, i'll try to implement another tricky way, but it's time consuming, so maybe finish it after several hours, maybe tomorrow, don't know. Will attach it here for testing.
