Re: VR mod

I bought Oculus CV1+Touch, on it's way to me now. I spent many months trying to find all problems of helmets and no one satisfy me. WMR Lenovo seems good, except small sweet spot area, Win10 only and very limited or no support for some games, while it is comfortable like Sony. Oculus have issues with usb bandwidth and consume much cpu time, so tracking quality decreases when games are heavy. But it have replacable batteries, so i will not be interrupted while modding and after years dont need to buy new controllers just because battery is dead. Oculus in general much more long lasting device, compared to Vive. Sadly, in Russia sales of Oculus are unofficial, so i will have problems if something go wrong about it.

Re: VR mod

What GPU ? I ran everything on the Vive with a 980ti without issues.

Didn't notice the Oculus touch losing tracking with games, I just didn't gel with them after getting used to the Vive wands.

The WMR headsets work with everything I've tried so far.. Elite, Project Cars, Solus Project, Skyrim, Raw Data, etc etc. Sweet spot is similar to Vive/Rift but not as good as PSVR. It's just the grey/blacks which bother me - and there's no settings page to adjust the brightness or contrast of the headset.

I don't think it's worth looking at anything like the Pimax 8k just yet. I can't run Project Cars on 1440x1440 resolution , even on low graphics mode, and keep a decent frame rate , so drawing 4k per eye with recent games is going to be another couple of years of GPU steps.

Re: VR mod

What i have read about testing it, Pimax 8k have too many problems, so its not something unusual release date was pushed futher all the time. It was stupid idea to not imprement SLI/Crossfire technology for VR as standard, but high res display running low res picture still nice because of screen door effect and interpolated pixels, on my old CRT display this thing happened naturally and on lcd i hate to watch photos, their small details (like grass) look very sharp and aliased.
WMR do not work with No One Lives Forever 2 and this is the game i wanna play in VR very much.
I didnt bought videocard yet (planning gtx1070 ti or 1080), because there are only 2 models which i dont like available in the local store, while other stores do not allow "moneyback" or exchange to different model because of noise produced by coils. This is very important factor for my rig, i put a lot of effort to make it silent, but what i can see in reviews, the chance to have hiss while doing some basic things like moving mouse, scrolling pages. To order in that store cards which not available in my city will take up to 2 weeks for delivery and its too much time to wait for players. So i dont know what to do atm.

Re: VR mod

I must buy only in my local store with moneyback feature, because almost all shops refuse to exchange videocard if coils are noisy, but this is not what i can tolerate when game is not running.

Nonetheless I will probably not play Skyrim VR since the controls for FO4 VR have just been terrible and performance atrocious.
I just can't imagine Skyrim VR reaching enough market saturation to warrant a special ENB version.
I have to take that back.
SkyrimVR actually feels and plays very well, especially in comparison to FO4VR.
Performance is fine with plenty of room to spare for some additional ENB magic.

Re: VR mod

Im not lucky. Because of recent sanctions against Russia, currency exchange rate is changed and prices for videocards raised accordingly, only few shops still with old. I must buy videocard asap. Helmet is with me already, just having issues with project setting in Visual Studio, it bring me .NET error which cant fix, seems Oculus setup with all patches it asking make this bug to happen.

Re: VR mod

Hello Boris. Thanks again for all your hard work. I've donated in the past and am willing to do so again.

I tried using the Skyrim VR ENB in Fallout 4 VR. As I'm sure you know, it didn't work. I remember you saying something about games that use the same engine don't necessarily use the same render pipeline.

Will you be making an ENB for Fallout 4 VR? If you can, I'd be very interested and while googling around to find the answer I can see many other people that are also interested.

Re: VR mod

Fallout 4 was released much earlier than Skyrim VR, so almost all players finished the game long time ago. Game itself not so interesting as Skyrim. Game by default look much better than Skyrim, so my mod is not popular even for usual non vr version. So i don't think about modding of it, not worth.

Re: VR mod

Thanks for your response.

Just to clarify, you saw that I'm asking about the VR version of Fallout 4, right? Not the regular version?

I say that because Fallout 4 VR was released December 11, 2017 and Skyrim VR was released April 2, 2018. That's 4 months between releases. The price is still very high on both games. Also, both games have a VERY active modding scene.

ENB and Elder Scrolls/Fallout are almost assumed to be together at this point because of your unique and impressive work (manipulative but true praise). Please reconsider and bring this game into the ENB family. ;)
