Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Updated the SSE patch with preliminary fixes to candles and light spells:

https://mega.nz/#!n1kBxIzK!7bQoQsARW5td ... nf9U7naWFo

If there are any issues or need for further optimization just let me know.

The candle glow is tricky since for example the chandeliers have multiple candles that each has a particle emitter attached, causing a massive number of particles to be emitted. If performance is still a problem one solution would be to limit the amount of maximum particles the system can spawn (only spawn near to player) but that would mean that the candles further to the player would have no glow.

The complex particle lighting effect looks absolutely gorgeous, by the way.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Thanks. I released now temporary version update which apply scaling non linearly, so small emitters of those two spells are almost not scaled, while candle sprites are fully scaled, this is for fixing performance issue. of spells only. That thing with brightness remain for them, because i decided to keep them drawing as complex particle light effect, maybe somebody will decide make other interesting effects based on this shader (unfortunately it's too big risk to apply same effect to fire particles, cause snow also there and others too). Your spell fix still should be used, because there are too many particles crossed which produce heavy lighting and sparks of skin specular. I can try fix performance issue using tiled lighting, but it's dx11 only feature and it worth to implement only if i will make more objects as emitters.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Okay, oldrim also have the same issue and because it's dx9, i can't do some computations to make partial fix on gpu by detecting size of sprite. So patch is required.
Regarding your patch update, i can see it's fixed for spells in hands, no longer emit light. But casted spell still work as emitter for all sprites which it have. I dont know if it's possible most of them to turn on, for example those many long and thin, but keep almost rounded as emitters.

Which spell is that specifically? I probably forgot a file from the patch.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

That's odd - just checked and for me it doesn't make any difference whether I enable of disable complex particle lights, not for the projectile or the floating thing that's left behind. Latest binaries.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Did you try to come close to some obstacle, so that floating light is almost touching it?

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Nope, still no luck but noticed something else: I was spamming the light spell while all of a sudden the spell effects, hairs, particles and other transparent stuff like glass turned into green.

Have you seen that? I heard some users reported issues with hairs, maybe it's related.
