Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
It seems the sword uses a similar visual effect as Dawnbreaker which causes the glow. However Dawnbreaker only reacts to Complex Particle Lights. Guess I do the same for that weapon as well.

Hey Mindflux. I guess this is somehow the same question Guzio asked but is it possible to let the particle fire settings control the spell particles? Because I love that candles emit those shadows but when I activate the complex particle shadows also the frost attack of the Ice Wraiths are casting shadows and this is a really bad impact on performance. If the frost spell or general spells were controlled by fire particle settings we could deactivate fire particle shadows and have nice performance but also can have the candle shadows or general particle shadows.

That's possible, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea because you would be then giving up shadows cast by the fire sources such as torches. Other than that it would be a somewhat painless way to optimize performance. That said, it wwould be still easier than trying to optimize each effect case-by-case, that seems very tricky. One possibility would be to add additional "dummy" objects that only work to cast the light instead of the effects themselves. This would also get rid of the flickering.
In any case I'll look into it, it shouldn't be too difficult.

One more thing, found a second torch with no particle light effect, torchpermanent01.nif :
and I was hoping that "Skyrim Enhanced Camera" will allow to overcome the first person mode limitations (the lights from spells), but no luck

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
In Skyrim SE the Magelight seem to have some inconsistencies
I have a Screenshot here. The Magelight that hits an object is the brightest and reacts to the firesetting. but the flying magelight and the magelight on the staff itsself is not reacting at all.
Also when I hit people with the magelight and it becomes a candlelight for them it also looks dull compared to the "object hitting Magelight"
Left -> Flying Magelight
Middle -> Arrived Magelight (Hit the object)
Right -> Staff Magelight

Guzio
Weird, I thought I tested that one too yesterday. Is that on SSE or Oldrim, Oldrim I guess? I might have forgotten a file from the patch, will look into it. Do you mean it doesn't react to complex particle lights (it shouldn't) or complex fire lights (it should)?
So you actually tested the Enhanced Camera mod but it didn't help? I had the same idea yesterday and figured it must work so it's surprising to hear it doesn't since as far as I've understood it's the same as using the 3rd person camera as far as the game is considered. Hmm now that you mentioned it, maybe there's a clipping distance somewhere that I haven't noticed, have to check again more carefully.

Thanks for the report - noticed the same, will look into it too.

I'm the Oldrim ENB fan . I can't live without a multi-weather support. Anyway, I've updated your mod in the lazy way, just copied all tree torch meshes and overwrite the old files. Maybe I should refresh also the nifs in the effects folder ?

Yeah I know, now with the new features I'm kinda torn and running both Can't make the presets look the same but it doesn't matter, I like them both.
That's odd about the torch, just checked with a clean(ish) game and data/meshes/clutter/common/torchpermanent01.nif is enough (blew out the values):
It's that type of torch, right, non-removable?
