Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.370

So I am really interested in the added sun direction. But I can't find it as any variable in the pre-pass. So how does it work?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.370

I didnt forget to update, it's just to use in the cell shading mod requested, so it uses screen space normals and SunDirection screen space also (it's bit unprecise). On practice there is no need to use such data, except some perverted artistic effects and pray that transparent objects not look too much weird.

Yes you did but apparently didn't think it was possible.
Everyone, add

float4 SunDirection;
Texture2D TextureNormal;

to prepass file and it'll work.

You are back! Is there a chance that you will re-upload the depth of field file?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.370

Hey Boris, is it possible to get the SunDirection in the lens file as well? I managed to track the sun somewhat accurately onto the screen with the help of it inside the prepass and it would be pretty neat to also control lensflare settings with it. The only other option would be to use the alpha channel to send it from the prepass to the lens file, but that would be a imperfect solution at best. And thanks a lot for the update!

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.370

I gave answers to that topic and why such method is buggy. Also sun direction and normals are not supported, they are made only for one mod and no other. I dont want that users come to my forum with complains about graphical bugs just because they installed shaders which utilize these features which must not be used at all.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.370

I notice Timer.z is still unused.
Could it be used to provide a frame count (num goes up exactly one each frame)? Frame count is useful for a number of things that a regular timer isn't, such as alternating patterns to exploit TAA, generating noise, creating a dither with a temporal highpass, and whatever other ideas one might have.
