The new 2.8 looks way more intuitive than the earlier interface but I don't how adequate the obj import/export is
(forget the nif plugins and use bodyslide's obj import/export)

Getting badly off-topic, but never heard of bodyslide - looks like something to edit character models?
EDIT - Hell yeah, this shit actually works. Not sure about transformations and stuff like that, but looks legit so far. Thanks for the tip, appreciated.

Yeah it's a very impressive tool, it is focused on outfits but could easily be repurposed into a general nif editor if they felt like it.
I would still review the end nifs with nifskope to make sure all relevant flags are set properly etc.

Sure! I don't find it much fun anyway The mesh is meshes/effects/fxwaterfallbodytall.nif. I think the smaller variant looks alright as-is.
