Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
The cloud shadows effect in SE is very problematic and just doesn't look good. I don't use it at all in this version.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
It's really difficult to make cloud shadow effect same as in old skyrim, because in old one i patched many vertex shaders to output uv projection in world for clouds mask, then in pixel shaders such position is actually was read. This kind of patching is very difficult to make in SE cause of complexity of shaders and too many of them, that's why i apply effect the same place where game apply fog for all non transparent objects. I could try to patch particles individually, but this rather do glitches cause some shaders will not be patched until i see them myself.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
So what, new version fixed problems with characters enough to use cloud shadows?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
I think cloud shadow is ok ...... But the sun rays are a little bit strange. Did you apply some multiplier ? I don't know how to say exactly, but the "boarders" of the rays seems to be too strong, even with low values. So the interaction of the rays with other scenery objects (mountains, trees, etc...) became a bit worse in 0.406 than in 0.401.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
No multipliers. Intensity changed visually because different combination of sample rate per pass. I don't know what "boarders" is, make a screenshot with marked areas please.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
Nevermind Boris, its not a issue from the binaries. I only found that I will need to adjust my Sun color filter (for each weather ini file) to suit the new changes. Reducing the red values makes it fine again. The red tone was too strong in my settings.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
Show screenshot of the issue. Maybe it's what i wrote in 0.406 thread about colors.

When I said "boarder" , I was talking about the big diference between the area touched by the ray and the untouched one (forming a line). The intensity of the rays in this image is set in 0.50 (default in my preset and i had to reduce it). I wouldnt say it is an issue, but only that the rays maybe became too strong in 0.406.

https://imgur.com/a/DT3tTfp here is comparison i did. Brightest rays screenshot is with 0.406. Other from 0.401, one more is 0.406 with intensity of rays 2 times lower. I dont see any dramatic difference to complain about.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.401
Nothing big to worry about. I only became surprised cause I had to reduce the values using 0.406 and adjust the color filter to get the same intensity I had using 0.401. Without this update in the preset the rays was too strong.
