Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Oh, so it's not possible? If so that's fine then I guess I'll have to try and trim down the weathers a lot. And yeah no way I would edit everything individually haha that would take forever. The weather mod I'm working on (or rather remastering didn't make it myself) is like really, really extensive. With all the regional weathers, DLC weathers, and some vanilla weathers for worldspaces from mods like Beyond Skyrim it's starting to add up real fast even when using multiple weathers per preset and removing a lot of stuff.

This game modded is like 5 games in 1 at times. :lol:

That's possible, but meanless. Even if you have 1000 weathers, just sort them by similarity and in each of 99 in enbseries write several weather ids which are about the same. Here is an example

Code: Select all

[WEATHER001]
FileName=10a234.ini
WeatherIDs=10a234
this can be changed to this:

Code: Select all

[WEATHER001]
FileName=someweather1.ini
WeatherIDs=10a234 10a231 10a232
so will have 3 weathers for 1 preset.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Yeah I've been doing it like that, stuff is just really varied. Like per region I have around 26 clear weathers and 26 cloudy weathers. These get split up into multiple presets, like 4 presets for clear, same for cloudy boom I'm on 8 presets already. And that's using like 5 to 6 ID's per category :lol:

Technically I haven't reached the limit yet because I'm rebuilding the weatherlist it to make it more organized but if my calculations are correct I'm gonna have to trim it down a lot. No matter though, I will make it work because stuff is looking way too nice now to quit.

PS: I assume once projects like Beyond Skyrim will release it would be more efficient to have different weatherlists per province right? For example one for Skyrim, one for Cyrodiil etc. For za ultimate immersion having one huge weatherlist would be nice but the program is pretty smart as you can change stuff mid-game and it will recognize the changes so I assume that's a better way of doing it? Just alt-tab and swap out the weatherlist for the new province.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

I don't know what to suggest about weathers, it's really strange to see people bother so much with them. Sun have always the same intensity and colors, visual difference only when air have vapor, dust, specific transparent clouds, time of the day. Ambient color depends from how much clouds cover sky and time of the day. Bottom ambient is not available in SE mod, but it depends from average terrain color in the location. All other properties should be about the same for all weathers, as i remember. So doing many weathers is strange task on my opinion.

Its really weird to see someone intending to go over the limit of the weathers ini files. A big waste of time IMO. You can easily group several weathers ID in only one file, since the colors and lighting diferences among them is minimal or inexistent...... O.o

Can someone please help? I'm new to modding skyrim, and for the life of me, I can not find the download button.

Calling it a waste of time when it seems you misunderstood what I said? It's kinda typical you misunderstood or didn't read my earlier posts where I explained the reasoning for asking about the limit but proceed to call it a waste of time..

It isn't that I "intend to go over the limit". The thing is that the combination of [Huge Weather mod for Skyrim Worldspace] + [Vanilla Weathers for Worldspaces added by modders who use Vanilla Weathers] + [Beyond Skyrim weathers, which in the future will probably contain way more weathers considering there are like 5 projects with super varying biomes] stack up really fast. Of course I don't use one preset for each weather when I have like more then 300 which seems to be the impression here. Who the f* even does that lol.

Also saying "colors and lighting diferences among them is minimal or inexistent" is kind of assuming considering you don't know which weathers I'm talking about. I can tell you there are quite a lot of differences between them even for weathers meant for the same region. I'm removing the worst outliers from the mod completely but some of the cloud combinations are so nice that it's worth to keep some of them at the cost of one more preset per region.

So yeah that's why I asked but Boris does not think it's worth increasing and that's cool in the end it's his mod he can do whatever he wants. Just don't call it a waste of time as that is kind of condescending towards the work I've been doing and even ignorant to an extent.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Boris, is it possible to add a couple of blending methods for the rain effect, like additive and lighter ?
I only speak for myself, i'm only interested with the highlights of the rain drops and I'm struggling with the "black rain" depending of some tod and sky configuration. Changing opacity doesn't really help since it also decrease the way drops are catching the light.

I'm very happy with the latest changes for cloud shadows btw, thank you !
