Water self reflection is correct. About characters i have no idea what the heck is going on, looks like driver bug or some other software messing around. I can try yours enbseries.ini, but 99.99% will not see this.

BTW what enb is t hat curious kinda like that coloring/lighting.Nomad0619 wrote:https://imgur.com/a/7SK4Mcs
Here's what I'm talking about. Body Reflection glossiness values have been set below 1 in the first case, and Self Reflection is on in water settings.
Although I think that's how self reflection works, it shouldn't be so dark, should it?

I'm using the per weather configuration for the Rain Wet Surfaces. I have attached the file for it down below.ENBSeries wrote:Water self reflection is correct. Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.421
I actually had the exact same problem and wrote this earlier in the Silent Horizon ENB thread on Nexus:
"Hm, I might have encountered a problem with the latest ENB-version (weteffect). The skins on all NPCs gets a very weird black effect...? Im going to post this in the ENB-forum too and maybe Boris will have a look at it... https://imgur.com/a/ZRviyd2
Edit: I tried to deactivate all the skinsmods (UNP, Pure and Skysight) but that didnt help.
Edit: 2: tried with a completely different ENB-preset and everything works just fine. Seems to be an issue with Silent Horizons then Im afraid. Going to test some more, because I really dont want to swith ENB now, love your preset!
Edit 3: tried with three different ENBs and none of them has this problem, everything works fine (wet skins etc)... Also tried to download and install the latest Silent Horizont Cathedral version again without ANY tweaks whatsoever + with and without the hotfix = horrible black skin effects... See image: https://imgur.com/a/T3xqnc0 Please let me know if you have any thoughts or a possible solution to this, I really dont want to switch to another ENB...
Edit 4: ...and everything works fine if I disable the weteffect. Weteffect off and on comparison: https://imgur.com/a/yxh7fUc "
I solved it by copying the weteffects settings from another ENB preset (Re-Engaged) to the Silent Horizon's enbseries.ini and then it worked. Really weird. Also tried with The Truths ENB weteffects settings and that worked fine too... So yeah, try with different wet effects settings and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.421
Tested Silent Horizon ENB and https://pastebin.com/vAiEVMdV, both works fine for me with vanilla game (including bodies) with NAT and without it. I only could try to find problem via long testing different builds.

Yeah, its pretty weird... As soon as I used Silent Horizons settings I got the black skin-bug, but when I turned the weteffect off everything was fine. And when I used other wet effects settings everything worked perfect too. So I dont know, I havent really tested it further since it works with the settings from Re-Engage preset. Im using Cathedral Weathers btw.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.421
Hey Boris, I'd like to post one request I wanted to post for a long time. Are you willing to add new parameters to SSS? Specifically, simple Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue parameters.
- Brightness would simply darken or brighten the characters;
- Contrast would increase or reduce the difference of skin brightness between Ambient and DirectLight;
- Saturation would be making the skin texture itself more colorful or less without darkening the characters like the existing parameters;
- Hue would allow users to change the skin color from orange to pink or maybe more yellow;
One of the challenges when working with SSS is that if we exagerate the effect a bit, the characters tend to be very bright and there's no way to darken the characters without increasing saturation. If we use darker skin textures, the characters visibility suffer when in shadows. Having the option to darken characters using SSS would be better in my opinion.
I know about the SkinShader prepass, but that has issues with fog and sunrays where objects are very visible through fog or sunrays, as if the effect is rendered after the fog/sunrays, not before. This is why I would prefer if it was in SSS, SSS has no problem like this.
Well, that's it, hopefully I get a positive answer and thanks for reading so far if you did.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.421
Boris: sure, I can try a few different settings!
Edit: Ok, so I tried with your weteffect-settings from https://pastebin.com/vAiEVMdV in the Silent Horizons ENB and everything works fine, wet skin looks good: https://imgur.com/a/oMvY6BO
Edit 2: The Truth ENB-preset looks good: https://imgur.com/a/UV3ctq3
Edit 3: Silent Horizons ENB-preset with Re-Engage weteffects settings looks good: https://imgur.com/a/Nehvt3L
Edit 4: Silent Horizons ENB-preset (no tweaks) does not look good: black skin bugs which occurs in certain angles (reflections?): https://imgur.com/a/8fsWY8u
Let me know if you want the settings posted in pastebin or if I can assist in any other way.

El Duderino
Test attached file with preset which produce black bug on skin. Change temporary value 1 and make screenshots with it set to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If you don't know, it's in the editor window, near to statistic and profiler tab. Also try the same screenshots with cubemap setting turned off for wet surfaces.
Arindel
Characters cant be darkened without making them look like from other game. Their image generated from different factors which are the same for scene, so globally reducing them just for part of screen will look as bug. Darker direct, ambient, point lighting on them, darker shadows, specular. So if i will make darkening dont complain to me about something wrong.
Saturation - already there.
Contrast - impossible, it's hdr data and there is no middle point, image will change unpredictable.
Hue - there are characters or things which are not human, you think candles must be pink? And i don't know math which work with hdr data.
EDIT: file deleted

I was thinking that Hue would work by offseting the hue based on original color instead of setting a specific fixed color for all affected objects. For example, if skin was orange and candle was yellow, by shifting the hue towards red, the skin would be red and candle would be orange.
About brightness, is there any other way to reduce skin brightness? If I increase DirectLight too much in [Environment], characters look very bright and looks wrong. I'm grasping at straws here, I can't find solution to make characters look more natural in strong sunlight.
In SSS when I increase EpidermalAmount or SubdermalAmount, the skin gets brighter so it's possible to do that already so perhaps part of that code can be reused to darken the skin?
