Re: TES Skyrim SE

@Pfuscher I hope you are making still textures with nice specular maps (or normal maps?)
Its a pity that parallax dont work in VR. for example the mountain textures in youre new version of skyrim2020 are useless in VR. but i stick with skyrim 2020 2.7 . they are great.

sry for that crappy resolution. Since march there is a bug in steamVR with WMR. With the HD openVR capture plugin, you get only half FPS. Since my Rig isnt the best, I have to capture the crappy Low Res game mirror.

Re: TES Skyrim SE

Thank you, I will.
My dumb old tv produces terrible colors, that's why I'm struggling with color and specular.
I plan to release my mod with like 5-10 mountain textures as optionals in the future. So everybody finds something to his taste.

Really nice video!

Re: TES Skyrim SE

Personally, I always liked the idea of having the mountains/rocks not being all the same, but being unique to each region. Tamriel Reloaded did this first, and it added a lot of diversity to the regions that way.

I was working on a landscape mod with ramccoid that added unique features to various outdoor areas, which also had unique mountain textures. Sadly, it was abandoned when he gave up modding. We had some fun new stuff like coral on the coastlines and revamped waves. Just one of several mods that never made it to fruition.

Re: TES Skyrim SE

Damn that's a shame. Sooner or later someone will or should do a mod like that again.
I'm not good at ck, but would gladly add some rocks

Re: TES Skyrim SE

While at it, it would be worthwhile to normalize the texel density and fix the stretching. Maybe also improve the geometry, at least the worst low-poly cases...

But with so many meshes, it's quite a lot of (stupid) work.

Re: TES Skyrim SE

Yes, as bad as the original Skyrim textures are for the most part, the low-poly meshes are worse. It's not that difficult to retexture things, but redoing all those meshes would be a nightmare.

Better meshes would really transform the appearance of the game. You can see how one little thing, like adding hi-poly heads, makes all the NPCs look so much more life-like.
