1 Yes
2 It is not discrete distance to say values. But generally consider that nearest is around 1.5 meter, far around 15 meters and futher.

Thanks. And since grasscollision parameters are also in enbseries.ini now, I presume I can delete the enbgrasscollisions.ini too ?

Yes. That file was for testing purposes to make newbies easier to find values and report which are okay by quality and performance.

I've been testing Dyndolod and found an issue with distantshadows - they look weird on tree lods. Anything that can be done besides disabling them ?

Firstly: no, why whould it be obvious? I haven't seen it in another games.
Secondly: there's everything wrong in having such darkness around the character.
Thirdly: no-one is blaming anything, it's just a fact that these two mods are not fitting together very well. (ENB and EVLaS). It's now proven with images and from multiple sources.

People can use one or another or both - that's up to them. Both are very good mods. I'm just asking if anything could be done to make these work together even better. (Please don't crucify me for this)
This is true, EVLAS introduce this problem. I found a way to kinda counteract this so its less visible - decrease directlighting value at night, dusk, dawn and sunrise and sunset. Its not perfect but at least you can run evlas and enb together with some modicum of consistency.

Ok, but how are the distant shadows implemented on tree lod ? Maybe there is something I can do with the lod ?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.484

Distant shadows are detailed shadows, they use depth buffer. Bad model by detail - bad shadow.
