Re: Skyrim Transparent Object Bug
All my fix is doing is fix invalid offset and distortion of the refraction. And add thickness of glass as alpha channel of distortion map. What modders do with this new thing - doesnt matter for me, new effect works good if done properly. And mod from this topic is made incorrectly, it must not work at all if refraction would be made right, even by raytracing.

Updated ENBSeries 0.488 for TES Skyrim SE without version change. Fixed bug of refraction in previous silent update.
Does this mean that the "fix" from the silent update has been reverted ?

Re: Skyrim Transparent Object Bug
It means i need to sleep more and stop releasing mods when tired. Instead of compare 250/255 i did 1/250, so fix didnt work, almost always forcing buggy vanilla refraction to be active.

Re: Skyrim Transparent Object Bug
I'll add here that the alpha that's in question, is the alpha channel of the normal map texture.
(Normal map texture is the texture file with the _n.dds at the end.)
For the "Transparent and Refracting Icicle and Frost Atronach" mod that was the reason for this topic, I made modified vanilla texture: https://www94.zippyshare.com/v/tsIZoyLp/file.html
And backup link: https://expirebox.com/en/v1sknJEmX5cu2cE/file
This file goes into textures\landscape folder. And that's it - the mod will work again as before, icicles will be translucent. If that's the preference.

The links to these texture fixes seem to be expired. Is it possible for them to be re-uploaded? If not, no worries.Anubis wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 14:32 I'll add here that the alpha that's in question, is the alpha channel of the normal map texture.

Re: Skyrim Transparent Object Bug
Yes, of course. But you have to wait until Sunday evening or Monday, because I'm on holidays and far from my PC where the file is.
Also, does anyone know a good free file upload site that does not need an account and does not expire ?

Re: Skyrim Transparent Object Bug
Thanks Anubis for fixing the game vanilla normal map texture, and it looks great. My mod did not have a modified icicle_n.dds file, so it was using the game vanilla bugged normal map texture. I'll upload your file to my mod page as a patch download.
