Ah ok. But what's the point then? Purely testing Boost? Why not test the whole package?

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203

Same result as Wanny has, no ENB effects with ENBBoost.

I just dropped the ENBhost.exe, ENBLocal.ini and the D3D9.dll in my Fallout dir, says ENBBoost is running, but no ENB effect.

If it is only for boosting, i can tell you that it doesn't enhance performance.
Maybe it would reduce crashing for people with badly configured games, but my game hardly ever crashes and runs fairly smooth.
Tried playing with the booster for a bit but i did not notice a improvement of any kind.
Just wanted to let you know.

I only have a little load stutter with FNV and it it still the same with the booster.
No other performance enhancing programs enabled like stated in the readme.

Mother of god... I wrote everything, this is patch without effects, skyrim version converted to work in fallout, only to understand if users have interest to it as to useful feature. Otherwise i don't wont to bother spend another day moving code between mods.

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203

OK,OK, easy, we can't help it we're a bit dumb..we're born this way, not to many D3D braincells.

Ofcourse there are people who want to use this, i can dream up a scenario that would benefit from it.
If someone does not want ENB effects, and has 8k textures and a vidcard with 6GB ram he would be thrilled.

But we are mainly liking your ENBseries enhancements and you can understand that people who want ENB effects, are not
going to trade ENB effects for better RAM usage, dont you ?

So as dumb as we are, well let me speak for myself, as dumb as i am anyway, i have no use for a booster
if it means no ENB effects.

So now i understand, so i won't bother you anymore with my stupid questions about the booster, sorry for that.
i go bang my head 10x to the wall now for punishment.

Lol Marcurios, you are comedic! Don't bang your head unless you are listening to some good metal :)

Boris, I understand you first want to see if there is any benefit of the ENBoost code for FNV before you bother trying to integrate with all the effects etc, so this version is just for testing ENBoost functionality. I do not know if there is a 'Fallout Performance Monitor' similar to Skyrim that will allow for showing test results of VRAM / RAM usage in charts/graphs etc. I can see if maybe there is one...

You will probably find users willing to to some testing of ENBoost for fallout, though it will take much longer than with Skyrim, must be patient... ;)

If I find a Performance Monitor, I will try out this ENBoost for Fallout, though I have not even had a chance to try the Skyrim version yet.

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203

I don't play Fallout 3 as much as Skyrim, but I haven't had any crashes with this game even with all the textures I could throw at it and ugrids at 7 and a high quality ENB preset, I only have about 20 gameplay mods installed though

Would be interested in Oblivion version though - very quickly reached memory limits when modding that game

Yeah, Fallout seems to be much more stable than Skyrim: when you use a lot of texture mods, the only thing that can happen is some stuttering, no crashes.

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203

My head still hurts from yesterday..i did play metal though..

@dpeasant, you're right, Fallout is stable, but if you have 4096x4096 textures for almost everything in the game
i can see that one would benefit from enbboost with huge amounts of Vram.

cause as it is now Fallout doesn't utilize more then 2GB ram and 1GB vram, atleast from what i can tell when i look at my memory usage.
And the exe is LAA, so in theory it should be able to adress 3gb since it's a 32-bit application.
But my ram usage never goes beyond 1,7gb.

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203

Why ?
You can't run the game with all 4096 textures anyway, or do you have a 6gb vidcard with 2 gpu's ?
I redid the entire terrain, and my master textures are 4096, but i'm playing with 2048 myself.
4096 for all the terrain really is just too much of a good thing.

I currently have 8192 rock cluster and LOD file, and 4096 rocks and grass and 2048 terrain,
and it is starting to tax my sytem, i also play with Tapioks textures, but it's really at it's limit.
Currently i don't even have 10% of all the textures in game replaced.
There are 20000 textures in Fallout, i have 1500 high res now, if i use more my system is going to blow up.

NMC has 5000 textures, if i install his full sised pack i can't play the game normally anymore.
