Doshu
Bad developers and managers destroyed industry, not consoles.
Physic fix on nexus is obsolette and i will not do any update to it there.

KuroTenshi
Don't have any ideas, no games which give my attention for modding or no users for mod of some games, so in all cases i don't want to waste time.

Boris have you considered The Witcher 2 for modding? CdProjekt released their toolkit for it. So I imagine there will be demand for it. Witcher 3 is on the horizon as well and there's been talk of them embracing the modding community.

Thanks for all that you've done in Skyrim. Thanks to your mod I can actually play it now.

Seeing how they managed to FUCK UP Rome 2 Total war, there is no doubt that consoles have nothing to do with that.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214

yeah i would also disagree Consoles brought a lot of great efficiency Research on the table also PC Engines benefit from these days, not only the small drawback of lets lower the texture resolution :)
Though with the Console Convergence taking place to x86 in the next Generation on both sides Sony as well as Microsoft we have great times ahead of us for Developers as well as Gamers alike on both ends :)
Faster Release times better Engine overall Performance, faster debugging times, lower content adaption times, 2 markets easier to be handled simultaneously it takes a lot of pressure and opens up more resources for the Mobile Development and optimization process :)
Everyone is gonna benefit it's a absolute Win Win situation we are going into for the next years between Console and PC sharing the same ideas also in Hardware aspects that are coming :)

And we didn't spoke about all the possibilities for Advanced Console Hackers yet, of course they are protected to the teeth with their Hypervisors enhanced and their Crypto stacks tightened but it will be a adventure for those that want to reach their personal next skill level ;)
Though going online Distribution with a clever system that entirely works on the Server side their would be no need to close the Consoles @ all anymore for PC like usage scenarios, with the fear of the system being broken locally becoming irrelevant.

Sony especially is going to test their acquired Gaikai H.264/H.265 Streaming like crazy on the PS4 and evaluate the wide usage of such a distribution system that many failed with before, though Gaikai is technically much better Developed than any Service before ever was, i was one of the beta tester for it in the early beginnings before Sony acquired them and know some of the head developers behind it and their very low level system skills ;)

I advise you Unreal Cinema ENB or Chidosity ENB V2. Both very beautiful and performance friendly.
Thanks but I have my own custom ENB that I created from scratch, currently with DOF turned off. I don't want to replace the whole thing with someone else's ENB, I just want to understand how to set DOF to get blur in the distance.

You just replace your enbeffectprepass.fx with theirs and enable DOF in your enb

Biggest problem with consoles is that lazy devs dumb down games and game controls to make them compatible with console controllers and consolero-minds. A complex game that is worth playing requires complex and flexible controls.

Just look at Witcher 1 / 2 and one little detail that is annoying as fuck if you really play the game:
Witcher 1: q m q for a typical Journal / Map / Journal check
Witcher 2: q - ESC - m - ESC - q just because they developed the game for console and fed PC gamers a sloppy console port (and as far as I remember, you could not even change those key settings)... And CD ProjectRed is still one of the better ones...
Same goes for combat systems - the most realistic combat system atm is still M&B Warband (if you set it to manual block). All others focus on cinematic kill moves instead of designing a proper directional combat system or physical accuracy (e.g. the bullshit they call archery in Skyrim drives me crazy).

But ok - bit off topic here, will shut up now. Just had to vent a little - that console bs makes me angry.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214

hehe granted controls often lack porting work because depending on the Engine they can be very deeply integrated for the common control system, but their are also good ways of deciding for 2 control systems and GUIs from the get go see for example Mass Effect ;)
It's always a thing of yes we want to "no we don't" it's nothing technically and Gameplay wise impossible but you have to think about these things right from the start and not say "ok we do it later" even some porting gurus will have problems then with those early on decisions that have been taken :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214

I was way over generalizing when I said consoles, but HIRLOK and ENB worded my opinion on the subject better. Consoles are not to be blamed of course, but the Developers and Studios that focus on that market without care of the consequences do.

And as far as idea sharing CRUNCHER technology improving all that noble stuff; it unfortunately boils down to money and efficiency, hardly ever the quality. Not gonna name companies here already way off topic, but there are few companies that seem to be trying to shake things up, but there are giants that take all that and shove it down the toilet at the same time. :)

BORIS, I am glad it was easy for you to do, sorry you are depressed about the future. Look at it this way though, if you havent done this and continued your work on it; Skyrim and etc. would have been next to dead on PCs long a go. You are a smart guy I am sure you know all this already. And for finding something for the future, it will come to you, dont over think it. Easier said than done for sure.
