@grafixer,
I can play for hours without CTDs and my Oblivion folder is +20 gb (ie, its heavily modded). I can ofc get random CTDs.
What Ive done:
first and foremost: unoffical patches. They are the best.
a) play in windowed mode and use GameCompanion 2.4 to fake fullscreen.
b) use Oblivion shutter remover and its iheap functions
c) use boss to sort the mods
d) clean the different mods with TES4Editor (Gophhers youtube tutorial is the best)
e) use Wrye bash to create a bash patched (its a really simple program and there are some good youtube tutorials)
f) never ever use autosave/quick save or save over another save. Always create a new save
g) patch the oblivion.exe with 4gb patcher
h) use Ordenador v 0.84 to opitimze the games textures
i) if you die in the game. exit to main menu and load from there.
With that said. Hopefully Boris will go back to this wonderfull game.
