Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Hi, Boris!
I wonder if it's possible to add something's like tinting or more "transparency" options to the rain effect, I want to have the rain drops to be a bit more "white", cause sometimes rain is very transparent or dark depending on the background.
Existing options, any combibnations, doesn't allow for such effect.
That being said vanilla rain has more visibility but looks like shit, ENB rain looks amazing but too influenced by background.

Also, can you add even more stretching radius, I want flatter lines of rain is this possible?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Game itself have color of the rain, but i removed it as water is transparent. Well, such requests are against reality, but i understand what you and other users means. Imagine yourself if i mix via interpolation some color to the rain, let's say white. In the dark areas and in the night it will be weird (self lit piss of the dragon falling from the sky). If i will make multiplier for intensity to scale it up a bit, it's less weird, but still strange looking in dark areas, similar to lights. I will experiment and write back with screenshots.
What is stretching radius?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Thanks for understanding, Boris.
Regular (vanilla) rain also white at night even though it's not realistic.
But since it's a fantasy game I guess you can say it's fine, since sometimes it provides more "atmospheric" visuals, adds to the density of the image. Not realistic, but for that, there's already good current rain implementation. Any option for a more "opaque", white-ish rain is welcome :)

As for the stretching, I mean initial drop is round shape, to make it vertical line we use motion stretching - so that round texture deforma and stretches to something that resembles a line; by the way this line is not quite "straight" for my taste even with the heighest motion stretch value.
I thought maybe it's possible to either extend the range you can "stretch" drops or maybe even have "straight" lines available as an texture option (again this will be more closer to vanilla rain texture implementation).

With latest binary and Picturesque weather (ENB is silent horizon tweaked to work with Picturesque), I have something like this:

To see the rain you really need to zoom into picture, of course it look better when in motion not static image, but you can clearly see how better it looks when viewed on a brighter background as opposed to night shots.
I think I really enjoy the rain feature now since I played a bit with it, but still would absolutely love to see some kind of "opaque" white tint to it so it could be kind of more visible and less "looking thought the stained glass" effect.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

Rain is replacable by external texture, there is no reason to do this by myself. In old skyrim as examples i did with lines too those external normal maps.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.406

https://imgur.com/a/KPg3xFR Here are screenshots of rain comparison by brightness boosted as result += result * Temp.F4; and if temporal variable less than 1, it's original one. I tried just additive, as expected rain looks weird bright like milk or even worse. In motion seems better and in the nights also okay more or less. Now i have to find out how reduce artifact of one axis screen shifting in refraction which occurs because rain drop is stretched to fake it's movement and turns to cylinder instead of to sample background like array of many spheres. Like on this picture with fire go to left only by straight line https://imgur.com/a/04E2duy

It looks pretty good, not like milk at all ;)

ENBSeries wrote:Long time no see, welcome back. Rain is blended by usual opacity when stretched, otherwise it's not blended at all cause only refraction is applied. I don't know why it can be dark for you, if i remember there is no color parameter for it (but could be wrong). Just to blend it to screen will not be good looking, i can try but sure it's bad idea. Instead, need to apply cubemap with sun, not just what is on screen visible, so it could shine and look more like water drops, but now it looks like water drops on the glass of window, hemispheres in vertical plane. From other side, such thing not easy to do, cause game own cubemap is awful. I'll think of this. Could you tell which weathers make rain dark?
Hey, thanks for the welcome :D , yeah I have been busy this last motnhs.
I just download the latest version and it's perfect.
I didn't expect this effect could be so much trouble for you and I imagined that a simple blending formula would be the simplest solution for you to do. But whatever you did with rains now looks really like I wanted, thank you very much !

(and sorry for my late answer, storm killed my internet)

I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread but where can I find the download for this older binary? Is that even possible? :|

Use newest version, they are fully compatible and nothing is worse in new versions. http://enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrimse_v0415.htm
